The count begins after all arrivals
Reaching the Trophy Lamp puts a boat at the finish, but the count waits for every crew to arrive. Leave the boats on their final route positions while organising the scoring pieces, so the completed journey remains visible.
Check for a card or event that still needs attention before starting the arithmetic. A piece whose instruction has not been finished is not yet settled; read and resolve it so the count begins from an agreed position.
Let the printed numbers lead the tally
Bring the collected coins and bonus chips into an open counting area beside the route. Add the numbers marked on those pieces where everyone can follow. Catch-family names do not supply substitute values when a piece already carries its own.
Buxenari provides an explanation of the tabletop tally, not a digital calculator. The group reads its actual collection of pieces and totals their marked values together, retaining a visible record of how the result was reached.
Close the round with a remembered decision
The highest total earns the right to name the day’s fictional derby catch. If a disputed action affects the count, return to its instruction and use the clear-table approach: read together and replay the uncertain part calmly.
Make room for a brief recollection before returning everything to the box area. Perhaps a dock decision helped or a shared event changed the journey. Remembering that moment gives the following round something more useful than the final number alone.
